Job Term: This is a temporary position supported by grant funding, with a 12-month appointment. The selected candidate will help solidify the resources needed to continue the position as a permanent, ongoing position in our organization.  

 

 

Essential Responsibilities 

 

Program Support:
  • Provide crucial administrative and coordination support for key programs, including the Latinx Preservation Toolkit, the Abuelas Project, and LHC's national conference, among other initiatives.

Communication Management:

  • Manage day-to-day communications, acting as the primary point of contact for the organization. This involves answering telephones, handling electronic correspondence, overseeing printing, routing mail, drafting emails and documents, and collecting/analyzing information as needed.

Logistics Assistance:

  • Assist in the seamless execution of logistics for field workshops, virtual events, programmatic content, and convenings.

Community Representation:

  • Represent the organization at community meetings and events, fostering collaboration with other staff members.

Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in coordinating the project planning calendar and meticulously track project budgets.

Flexibility and Special Projects:

  • Demonstrate adaptability by performing other duties and special projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in office management, administration, business development, project management, or related fields.

Project Management Skills:

  • Proven excellence in project management and organizational skills, showcasing the ability to deliver high-quality work within specified timelines.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in SharePoint, with a track record of completing projects on schedule.

Strategic Project Execution:

  • Capability to plan, execute, and control projects, including risk assessment, option identification, decision-making, and implementation of corrective actions.

 

Commitment to LHC’s Mission:

  • Enthusiastic about our mission and dedicated to equity and inclusion. Experience working with Latinx and BIPOC organizations, coupled with cultural competency for Latinx communities, is essential.

 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to speak, read, and/or write in Spanish is a plus.

Interpersonal Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, encompassing strong listening, writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication abilities.

Organizational Skills:

  • Proficient in identifying, prioritizing, and managing agendas, employee communications, high-level presentations, and documents. Comfortable with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Exceptionally proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and internet research skills, with the ability to quickly learn new applications.

Independence and Remote Work:

  • Proven ability to excel in working independently, with remote work experience being a plus.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience with GIS or design is a plus.

Annual Salary:

  • Entry Level: $40,000 plus comprehensive benefits

  • Experienced: $45,000 plus comprehensive benefits

  • Highly Experienced and High Performer: $50,000 plus comprehensive benefits
