The Isabel Espinoza Polanco Student Scholarship
In honor of their mother, Isabel Espinoza Polanco, Julianne Polanco, the current California State Historic Preservation Officer, and her family, offer a scholarship opportunity to students and community to participate in and contribute to Encuentro 2018.
Mrs. Isabel Espinoza Polanco believed that knowledge is power. She dedicated her life to teaching children and serving her community. Mrs. Polanco was a mentor to many and friend to all. She was the first-born to Mexican immigrants and extremely proud of her history. She believed that every person has the power to make their future whatever they choose through education, perseverance, and a little luck. She also believed it is each individual’s duty to help each other, thus creating thriving communities.
