Acerca del evento

Turning a preservation vision into a tangible project can feel overwhelming, but every successful capital project begins with a clear plan and community-centered approach. This beginner-friendly webinar demystifies the process by outlining key steps to assess readiness, plan effectively, and translate community vision into physical preservation outcomes.

Who should attend: Community members, local leaders, educators, nonprofit organizations, heritage practitioners, and anyone interested in safeguarding the stories and spaces that shape Latinx communities.

What you’ll get:

  • Understand what makes a site or project “ready” for development

  • Outline essential planning steps, including feasibility, budgeting, and timelines

  • Connect community values and vision to project goals

  • Engage partners, stakeholders, and potential funders early in the process

  • Use documentation and research to strengthen project proposals

Whether you are considering repairs, renovations, or larger preservation initiatives, this session provides practical tools to move from idea to actionable plan while keeping community needs and cultural significance at the center.

Pricing: Free for LHC members. $10 for non-members. Optional donations support LHC’s national preservation advocacy work.

Accessibility: LHC is partnering with Cinco Rios Multilingual Initiatives to offer all Community Toolkit webinars in both English and Spanish via Zoom's simultaneous interpretation feature. Attendees can select their preferred language during the call. The webinar recordings will be available in English and Spanish afterward on LHC’s website and YouTube channel.
