Preserving the LULAC Council 60 Clubhouse: A National Treasure & Rare Latinx Heritage Site

Funding supports rehabilitation work at the Historic LULAC Council 60 Clubhouse, one of the few surviving Latinx civil rights organizing sites in the United States. The project includes preservation of historic interior features and ADA accessibility improvements ahead of a planned public reopening.

"C60, Inc. is honored to receive support from Latinos in Heritage Conservation’s Nuestra Herencia Grant Program, which affirms the Historic Council 60 Clubhouse as a rare and irreplaceable landmark of Latino civil rights history. This investment will help C60 preserve a National Treasure and transform it into a historic house museum and cultural hub where future generations can learn, gather, and see their own stories reflected in the American story. At a time when Latino heritage sites remain underrepresented in the national preservation landscape, this grant helps ensure that the courage, leadership, and legacy rooted in this house are honored, activated, and carried forward."
