Funding supports oral history collection, archival work, and public storytelling documenting Latino histories across Wyoming. In partnership with Hispanic Organization for Progress and Education (HOPE).

“This funding award supports our efforts to preserve Manito (New Mexican) and Mexican American heritage in Wyoming, in two historic districts--the Southside of Cheyenne and Westside of Laramie. Through oral histories, community storytelling, and public exhibitions, we will honor our elders, and ensure that our children and communities see themselves reflected in Wyoming’s historical record. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to partner with families, local organizations, and Following the Manito Trail researchers and scholars to ensure these histories are not forgotten."
