“We are deeply grateful to LHC for believing in this project. For many years, Latino families have helped sustain Noyo Harbor while remaining largely absent from its public history. Support from LHC allows us not only to collect these stories, but to gather, interpret, and share them through community dialogue, art-making, public events, and an illustrated map of the harbor. It helps transform an underrepresented history into visible and lasting cultural memory, creating opportunities for our community to feel pride, strengthen connections across generations, and see itself reflected in local history. At the same time, it invites the wider public to recognize Latino contributions to the Mendocino Coast. Our vision is that future generations inherit a history in which they can finally see themselves and understand that Latino history helped shape and continues to shape the Mendocino Coast.”
