for our third national convening, Encuentro 2018.
We're excited to announce that our next national gathering is scheduled for April 26-28, 2018. LHC's three-day event is presented in partnership with Rhode Island Latino Arts and the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission, and will be held at the Roger Williams University School of Continuing Studies in Providence, RI. Encuentro will bring together preservation thought leaders, scholars, students, and community advocates from all over the country for an unprecedented discussion of the value and future of heritage conservation in New England's Latino communities and beyond.
Among the featured speakers are: Stephen Pitti, professor of History and American Studies at Yale University, former chair of the National Historic Landmarks Committee for the National Park Service and former member of the National Park Service Advisory Board; Eduardo Díaz, director of the Smithsonian Latino Center; and Belinda Faustinos, Executive Director at Nature for All, Co-Chair of the American Latino Scholars Expert Panel and former member of the National Park Service Advisory Board.
