FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

about
the program
The Semilla Scholar Fellowship Program has been a part of LHC's mission, dedicated to supporting future generations of Latinx preservationists, historians, planners, and educators.
Since our initiation, graduate students have contributed to The Abuelas Project and The Latinx Preservation Toolkit and have continued to be involved in other initiatives throughout the years.

OUR PROGRAM SUPPORTS graduate students (master's and PhD) who demonstrate a dedication to advocating for Latinx heritage, have a strong commitment to community engagement, and bring innovative perspectives to the field.

Why is the fellowship program important to LHC?
The fellowship program is important to LHC as it provides one of the few fellowship opportunities specifically for Latinx graduate students in historic preservation.

How does it relate to our mission & vision?
A new fellowship team is brought in with every project, fostering the next generation of Latinx scholars in this field so our vision of creating a just world that values Latinx heritage, people, and places can continue.
