If you are a student, young professional, or amidst a mid-career shift in the historic preservation field and you have specific interest in preservation policy or federal advocacy, apply now to become a 2026 Bruce MacDougal Advocacy Scholar! Selected participants will participate in policy briefings and trainings,  join congressional office visits, and attend key networking events. The scholarship includes complimentary Advocacy Week registration and a travel stipend. This year’s Advocacy Week will take place March 2-5, 2026 in Washington, D.C.

Applications are due Monday, January 5th. Scholars will hear back by January 12th.

Internship opportunity for undergraduate college students rising into junior or senior year. This is a 10-month part-time paid internship in the McNay's Education Department and starts in January 2026. The McNay is looking for enthusiastic students who can demonstrate how an internship in museum education would benefit their career goals. The McNay has had students majoring in art, art history, museum studies, art education, education, social work, and other fields related to education or the arts.
