"As a 40 years and counting "teatro latino" known for experimentation, LATEA Theater considers Nuestra Herencia grant crucial for the preservation of our Latin American heritage and our history as the foundational space of The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Educational Center (the Clemente) in Loisaida. While allowing LATEA to honor its trail blazing history, Nuestra Herencia will also ensure a thoughtful interior renovation of the 1897 Dutch Neo Gothic C. B. J. Snyder architectural masterpiece our founders Tamayo, Landrieu and Gomez occupied and transformed into a unique New York City cultural jewel."
