"This grant is a huge first step forward in ensuring the preservation of one of the borderlands' most important historical sites, the Don Pedrito Jaramillo Shrine. Over 100 years after his death, Jaramillo’s shrine is still a sacred pilgrimage site to hundreds, if not thousands, each year. With this grant we can begin planning its long-term preservation, ensuring the history and legacy of Don Pedrito’s healing lives on for generations to come. "
