NUESTRA HERENCIA GRANTEES

“There are only a handful of outdoor murals in the United States that date back to the time period. Three of them are in Chicago and all three are in the Humboldt Park/West Town Community.”

- John Pitman Weber, Chicago Muralist / Artist

“For me, what was interesting about the murals was their social messages. They speak to issues that impact directly on the community, like housing, police brutality—all the issues that we continue to address today.”

- José E. López, the Executive Director of The Puerto Rican Cultural Center, stated in the Chicago Sun-Times.
