The Organization
The Palacios Preservation Association was an incredibly successful grassroots, all-volunteer organization formed in November of 2022, to save the historic Luther Hotel from demolition. The building was purchased in August of 2024, and is currently being restored to reopen as a working hotel. In the spring of 2025, the PPA members decided to become a formal 501c3 nonprofit with a mission to make a positive impact on economic development and community engagement in the Palacios area through support and promotion of historic preservation and heritage tourism.
Position Summary
An Executive Direct of the Palacios Preservation Association serves as the leader of the organization, overseeing operations and working with the board to set strategic direction and ensure the advancement of the organization’s goals. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit leadership and start-up experience, well-honed volunteer management skills, and a knowledge base of historic preservation and heritage tourism. The Executive Director will not only be a delegator, but a real hands-on, problem-solving member of the team.
